About SiteGround

SiteGround is one of the few popular hosting companies that is not owned by EIG group now renamed to Newfold Digital. They are known in web-hosting industry for their quality web hosting products and top-notch customer support.

You can barely find any negative reviews of for SiteGround. Whether you are a blogger, small business or developer, SiteGround meets the requirements of almost all the people.

Which SiteGround Plan To Choose?

Siteground offers several hosting products including Shared Hosting, Managed WooCommerce Hosting, Cloud Hosting, Resellers Hosting as well as Dedicated Server Hosting. Due to several plans, a lot of people are confused as to what plan will be suitable for them.

Therefore I thought of briefing about various SiteGround plans so that you can choose the right plan for your blog or business.

1. SiteGround Shared Hosting Plans

As the name suggests, in the case of Shared Hosting plans, you will be sharing the server and its resources with other users. It is a fully-managed web hosting service that comes with a cPanel.

The shared hosting plan is the best for bloggers and small businesses who are just starting or have limited traffic to their website. This is because usually on a shared server, if another website starts getting a lot of traffic, then your website's performance may be affected.

However, SiteGround does a great job by restricting the amount of server resources a single website can use. Hence, at SiteGround, the impact to your website will be limited due to other websites on the server. But that also means, your website will be able to use limited resources thereby restricting the amount of traffic it can handle.

SiteGround offers three different plans for their Shared Hosting Users. Higher the plan, more the resources and better the features.

Let us go through each one of the above plans quickly to understand which SiteGround Black Friday Plan will be suitable for you.

a. StartUp Plan

The StartUp plan is the entry level plan of SiteGround. It is suitable for bloggers as well as SMBs who are either just getting started or have low traffic to their websites.

With the StartUp Plan, you can host a single website and use up to 10 GB SSD storage. The Bandwidth is unmetered, but as the case with any shared hosting company, a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) does apply.

According to SiteGround, the StartUp Plan is suitable for sites which get up to 10,000 page views per month. However, in actual use, the traffic can be more or less depending on various factors related to your website design.

Each account with the StartUp plan can use up to 768 MB of RAM. The CPU seconds are limited to 1000/hour, 10,000/day and 3,00,000/month. The Inodes are limited to 1,50,000.

Each plan at SiteGround gets you free Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate. If you are planning to move your website to SiteGround, their customer support can handle the transfer for you free of cost.

b. GrowBig Plan

If you are planning to host multiple websites with low traffic or if you getting a decent amount of traffic to your websiye, you should consider buying the GrowBig plan.

Although the allotted physical memory remains the same for all SiteGround plans, the Grow Big plan offers more CPU seconds and therefore can handle more traffic. With the GrowBig plan, the CPU seconds are limited to 2000/hour, 20,000/day and 6,00,000 per month.

According to SiteGround, the GrowBig plan is capable of handling up to 25,000 visitors per month. However, with proper caching and blocking of bad bots, this plan can handle much more traffic

With the GrowBig Plan, you get free daily backups along with 30 latest backup copies stored on the server as against a single backup copy that is overwritten daily if you choose the StartUp plan. You also get access to Super Cacher that can speed up your website.

Priority support is also included with this plan. Needless to say, other features of the StartUp plan like the free SSL is also included.

c. GoGeek Plan

As the name suggests, the GoGeek plan is designed keeping in mind the requirements of developers. However, this plan is also suitable for bloggers and e-commerce websites who get medium to high traffic.

As per SiteGround, the GoGeek plan is suitable for websites with up to 100k visitors. It can accommodate higher traffic due to more CPU seconds and fewer accounts on the shared server.

The CPU seconds are considerably higher at 4000/hour, 40,000/day and 8,00,000/month. Although, the allotted RAM remains the same at 768 MB

The GoGeek Plan offers some additional features like one-click staging server. The GoGeek servers are PCI compliant which makes it suitable for E-commerce websites and other websites that accept Credit Cards.

In addition, the GoGeek plan also offers On-Demand Backups. It also comes with a pre-installed Git for developers.

2. Managed WooCommerce Hosting Plans

The Managed WooCommerce Hosting plan is a shared hosting plan which is customized for WooCommerce hosting. It comes pre-installed with WooCommerce and Storefront theme. However, I recommend using Astra theme for your WooCommerce site. Their Starter Templates plugin can help you build a beautiful store in seconds.

Other than the above, there is absolutely no difference between Shared Hosting and WooCommerce hosting, neither in features, nor in plans and pricing. You still get the same three shared hosting plans

3. Dedicated Server Hosting

Unlike Shared Hosting, in Dedicated Server Hosting, you hire a complete server for yourself. You don't share the server or it's resources with anyone else.

The dedicated servers are usually recommended for high traffic websites. Also, since you do not share the resources with anyone else, it is generally considered to be more secure and hence recommended for E-commerce websites. You also have the complete control over the content you host and can use it to host any resource intensive applications.

However, the dedicated servers are very costly as compared to a share hosting. SiteGround provides fully managed dedicated servers that start at $269/month.

At the above price you get Intel Xeon E3-1230 server which comes with 4 cores and 8 threads CPU clocked at 3.2 Ghz. The pricing is on the higher side if you chose to get a server in Asia.

SiteGround is not providing any discounts as a part of this year's Siteground Black Friday Deal. However, if you are planning to buy dedicated servers, you can get an awesome deal from Liquid Web which is not only a better, but also a cheaper alternative to SiteGround when it comes to Managed dedicated servers.

However, if you want to stick to SiteGround, you will have to buy it at the regular price.

4. Cloud Hosting

Although dedicated servers are secure and good for high traffic websites, the major disadvantage with them is the scalability. If you choose to go with a smaller server and if your website's traffic go beyond the handling capacity of the server, you will have to migrate your website to another higher server.

The Cloud Hosting plan helps you overcome this problem. In the case of Cloud Hosting, several servers are connected together to form a Cluster. Your website will be hosted on this cluster of servers and hence draws it resources from multiple servers.

In most cases, Cloud Hosting works in a shared environment with virtualizations that provide dedicated resources to each account similar to Virtual Private Server (VPS). Also, since the website is hosted on a network of servers, if any server in the network goes down, the website is automatically transferred to another server within the network resulting in almost no downtime.

At SiteGround, the basic Cloud Hosting Plan starts at $80/month. At the said price you get 2 CPU cores, 4GB RAM, 40 GB SSD storage and 5TB of Bandwidth. The plan is completely scalable and you can choose the CPU cores, RAM as well as storage as per your requirements at the start or even at a later date.

SiteGround also offers AutoScaling feature that scales your servers automatically to handle traffic spikes. Daily backups for up to 7 days of data is included in the above price.

As with the dedicated servers, SiteGround is not providing any discounts on their Cloud Hosting plans during this year's SiteGround Black Friday Sale. So, you can either buy it at their regular price or consider going with Nexcess

Reasons For Getting SiteGround BlackFriday Deal 2022

I am sure you already have your reasons to buy SiteGround hosting. However, here are a few points that work in favor of SiteGround.

1. One Click App Installer

SiteGround also comes with the famous 1-click App installer. So you don't have to get dirty with codes to install your favorite apps.

2. Free SSL Certificates

SiteGround provides free SSL-certificates by Let's Encrypt. This is ideal for bloggers and smaller E-commerce companies who do not have to shell extra for purchasing costly SSL certificates.

3. CloudFlare App In cPanel

SiteGround offers easy CloudFlare App in the cPanel making it easier for you to use CDN.

4. Free Backups

SiteGround offers daily backups of your website with all the three plans. However, with the StartUp plan, only one copy is saved on the server which is rewritten on a daily basis. With GrowBig and GoGeek plan, you can save up to 30 latest back up copies.

The GrowBig and GoGeek plan also offers one-click restoration of backups, while the later also offers customer support assisted backup restoration without any additional cost.

5. Customer Support

Their customer support is knowledgeable and is usually quick to attend to your queries. So, from support point of view you won't have any trouble with SiteGround.

Reasons To Get Alternatives To SiteGround Black Friday Deals

As we said earlier, though SiteGround is a good solid hosting company, we have our reservations because of a few major drawbacks with their hosting. So, here are a few of these drawbacks

1. High Black Friday Prices

SiteGround does offer huge discounts during Black Friday. However, their pricing is still very much on the higher side when you compare it to offers provided by other web hosting companies like A2 Hosting and Bluehost.

2. Very High Renewal Prices

The entry level plan of SiteGround will renew it a whopping $11.95/month. This is too expensive for a shared hosting plan especially when you can get Manage Cloud Hosting from Cloudways at $10/month ( Plus minimum $0.5 offsite server backup).  And what makes Cloudways better? You get $20 hosting credits that can get you almost 2 months of free hosting with our exclusive Cloudways Coupon.

So, if at all you have a high budget, it's better to go with Cloudways Black Friday Deal.

3. Low Server Resources

Shared hosting has a lot of drawbacks and one of it is that you have to share the server resources with other accounts hosted on the same server. That's the reason, most hosting companies restrict the server resources that your website can use.

However, SiteGround takes it to the next level and restricts the amount of resources to a level that might not be enough for even medium traffic blog. As per the company's own recommendation, their basic plan is suitable just for 10,000 monthly visitors.

So, if your blog grows at a fast pace, you might run out of resources in which case SiteGround will take down your website for the rest of the month. If you would like to get back online, you will have to upgrade to a higher plan, which as I said is priced very high.

Alternatives To SiteGround Black Friday Deal

Below are some of the best alternatives to SiteGround Black Friday Deals.

1. A2 Hosting (Shared Hosting Alternative)

If you are looking out for shared hosting, A2 Hosting is something you must consider. Not only is A2 Hosting cheaper than SiteGround for the first tenure, they also offer lower renewal pricing.

Also, there are fewer resource restrictions as compared to SiteGround. So, your blog can handle larger amount of traffic. And if your blog grows faster than expected, upgrading to higher plan is much cheaper. You can also check my Review Of A2 Hosting

2. Cloudways (Cloud Hosting Alternative)

There is no discount during for Cloud Hosting during the SiteGround Black Friday Sale. And, the regular Cloud Hosting pricing for SiteGround is by no means cheap. So, if you are looking to buy Cloud Hosting, you can consider Cloudways Black Friday Deal

Cloudways is the among the cheapest options available for managed cloud hosting with plans starting as low as $10/month (Plus minimum $0.5 for offsite backups). However, they do not offer cPanel and lack File Manager and Email Hosting.

3. Liquid Web (Cloud Hosting With cPanel And Dedicated Server)

If you are looking for cPanel based Cloud Hosting, Liquid Web is is an affordable and more reliable option to consider. Also, Liquid web is one of the best option when it comes to Dedicated Servers as they provide offer the latest servers in the market. You can check out the Liquid Web Black Friday Offer.

Final Words

SiteGround used to be a good solid hosting company. However, in the last few years, they have hiked their pricing and degraded their customer support quality. They have also moved from their own servers to GCP and a lot of users are unhappy with this move as they don't want to share their data with Google.

They, even replace cPanel with their own control panel to further cut down the costs and increase their profit margin. Plus they always had the CPU Seconds restrictions issue.

So, if you too are bothered with SiteGround's CPU issues and their degraded services, you can check out these Black Friday Web Hosting Deals for 2022.
